Our Mission

Madison House Foundation (MHF) works to create a brighter future for adults with autism by enabling community collaborations in disabilities housing, education, financial planning, medical understanding, and employment opportunities.  We achieve this mission by hosting conversations, educating families and first responders, researching and developing sustainable solutions, and creating tools, models and templates to help families and communities support adults with autism.  The result is a shared, creative, and sustainable response to supporting adults with autism, reducing the burden of care on families and communities through a proactive, planned approach to help individuals live full, productive lives.

The Difference We Make

Since its founding in 2008, Madison House Foundation has sponsored local and national conferences and convened discussions of community leaders, medical providers, educators, and families to develop solutions to address the following goals:

  • Supporting community awareness programs, advocacy in legislation and policy, and establishing models in planning for all aspects of adult life for individuals with autism
  • Working with local and national universities to (1) co-sponsor autism conferences and (2) co-develop autism specific curricula for those desiring to work in the field
  • Working with community colleges to help train direct care staff and para-educators
  • Offering CME’s (for physicians) and CEU’s (for nursing staff) to better train our medical personnel
  • Providing adults with autism the guidance and assistance necessary to attain their highest potential, enabling them to make contributions to society that also serve to strengthen the perception of autism in eyes of the general public
  • Encouraging family advocacy of those living with autism by facilitating the utilization of the best available services
  • Helping parents, providers and educators understand the process of transitioning from public schools to adult life
