Advancing Futures For Adults with Autism

Phase 3

On July 15th in Washington, DC. AFAA held a Congressional briefing.  The briefing brought together federal legislators, national policymakers and advocates for adults with autism – including individuals who have autism – to discuss priorities for action in the public and private sectors that address the increasing and unmet demand for effective services for adolescents and adults with the disorder.  Madison House Foundation was pleased to site manage the Washington DC location for the National Town Hall Meeting phase of AFAA.

Autism Training Seminar- April 8th -9th, 2010

Sponsored by Madison House Foundation, Montgomery College, and the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Aging and Disability Services.

The second annual Autism Training Seminar, held at the Montgomery College Rockville Campus, was a two day event featuring an array of well known leaders in the field of autism to educate and inspire Parents, Educators, Direct Support Professionals, Medical Professionals, and First Responders.  This year’s ATS offered continuing education credits for Medical Professionals interested in honing their understanding of the complex disorder of autism.

The Autism Training Institute

Presented by Montgomery College & Madison House Foundation
Held in conjunction with Autism Awareness month, the Autism Training Institute (ATI) was a dynamic two-day event held at The Universities at Shady Grove, 9630 Gudelsky Dr., Building 1, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The ATI hosted a variety of respected leaders in the field of autism who provided up to date training and insight to assist parents and educators in Montgomery County in better serving the unique needs of those with autism.
